Mansoura Oriental Pastry
South Brooklyn's Middle Eastern district is packed with genuine culinary delights from that part of the world. The family-run Mansoura Oriental Pastry bakery (515 Kings Highway - www.mansoura.com) relocated from Egypt in 1961 and features baklava (layers of thin dough, filled with nuts and sweetened honey syrup), burekas, and basbousas (a orange-hued Egyptian pastry made with almonds).
